20 months

Today I realized that it has been 20 months since Erlend and I got to swear in front of family, friends and most importantly God, that we will spend the rest of our lives together.

I know that sounds pathetic to those of you who have been married for more than 20 years, but I still get excited about every day I get to spend with my husband, even when he posts weird pictures of me on our blog :-).

I thought I would put some better pictures online, some of my favorites of our wedding day...

A little late

Anne said she did not want to post a blog yesterday, because she didn't have a picture, so i took this picture, and now I'm posting it, A day too late, but anyway...

There's so few pictures of her on this blog anyway :P

work and pleasure

Today Erlend helped our brother-in-law fix with a project on their house, while my sister and I went to a mother & baby group. In the afternoon we enjoyed the amazing weather outside while watching our wee nephew taking a swim.

man chairs

Today we went shopping with my little brother and his beautiful fiancee. Their wedding is coming up and he still needed to get his suit.
Now just to make myself clear, Erlend is an excellent shopper (given that enough food is provided :-)), he is willing to carry any amount of bags, has good taste and gives his honest opinion on clothes for me. But I guess you could say that shopping for his brother-in-laws wedding suit is not reeeeally Erlend's favorite cup of tea :-), so every time we entered a new shop he went straight looking for the "man chair".

Official definition of "man chair": Chair which is kindly provided by stores for those dragged along to shopping, but who do not really want to be there. Said group consists almost exclusively of men.

One time he came to me with a shocked look on his face and said, "Anne, there is a WOMAN sitting in  my man chair - outrages!" :-)

Krötenbruck

Today Erlend understood why the place where my parents live is called Krötenbruck, loosely translated it means Toadbridge. He was mowing the lawn and found many toads and frogs.

contacts, contracts and cards

Today Erlend had his first eye sight test in German (he did very well :-)) and he switched to monthly contacts. Then we tried to get some German contracts for our cell phones... not easy, no actually impossible, if you only want it for one year.

Tonight we had a lot of fun at my parents house playing cards with Papa, Mama and Oma. I have a feeling we will be doing that a lot while we are here.

blessing over blessing

We are overwhelmed and humbled by the many blessings that have been given to us since we have arrived here. Just to mention a few...
My oldest brother asked us last night if we were interested in staying a week with him and his wife in Vienna. Heck, yes, we are interested!!!
Friends of my parents have given us an apartment that we can live in during our time here.
We were given a car that we can use for the next year.
Our German side of the family has made us feel so welcome (one sister even took a 3 hour train ride, just to meet us at the airport for a few hours).
We are so thankful and know that it is all because of our heavenly Father aka Jehovah-Jireh!
