okay so here is the promised banana bread picture - I know what you're thinking - that looks like pooh, sorry I had some trouble with the pan... but it tasted great, took it over to Tørneset and shared it with the other Røsviks.

cheapest coffee in town
We went to town today with Mamma Bodil for different errands, one of which was to find out, if my "number", which I need for my visa, had come, but NO, it was not there yet :-( So we went to the big M and had a coffee and a McFlurry (guess, who had what :-)) to cheer ourselves up.

Emma visited
Our little niece Emma visited us today and first we had some yummy smoothies.
Then diligent Emma helped us make some pizza toasts - she graded cheese (is that how you write this? Because she did not grade it as in saying how good it was...but you know what I mean just look at the picture :-))
Everybody was helping, Erlend displayed amazing salami cutting skills :-)
Stir, girl, stir it good! :-)

Erlend got me roses!
As I was standing in the living room ironing away (marital bliss! :-)), Erlend came home from work and brought me a beautiful bunch of roses - I have an amazing husband!
On a less romantic note:
We realized today that our camera is not working, that is that it is not recognising the memory card that is in it....so we will try to continue posting pictures taken by phones and computers until we get this problem figured out....

Challenge excepted!
Our friends Edmund and Marianne (one of our favorite couples to hang out with :-)) commited to a kind of challenge serveral months ago. There said they were going to post a picture that they took that day every day for a whole year. We love the idea and what to try to do the same here on our blog. We will try to post a picture (sometimes it might be more then one, maybe to show a process or tell a story) on here every day at least for the next 365 days.
Marianne is a brilliant photographer and Edmund also knows his way around a camera, so their pictures are partly a way to show their amazing photography skills. However I can tell you know, our pictures won't be like that, as even though our camera is a gift from Edmund and Marianne, I am pretty sure their photography skills did not transfer with it when they gave it to us. I hope so much that you will enjoy the pictures anyways.
And without furter ado, here is the Photos of day 1:
Our little nephew Levi looooves angry birds and it will be his birthday on Sunday. His mom Sarah and I decided to try to make some angry birds decorations for his birthday cake...and this is what it turned into. It was so much fun to make these and Erlend (who also looooves angry birds :-)) wants an angry birds for his (which is our) birthday, too :-)!

every day life
Here are some glimpses into what we do right now....
This is a very common sight these days, Erlend and I are sitting in front of the computer (at his parents house, as we do not have internet at our house yet) trying to apply for some kind of number or form or whatever it is that we need to get a permission for me to stay in the country... we have found this process to be quite confusing and we pray that the Lord will provide a solution soon... for now I am fine for another few weeks staying on a tourist visa.
Here you see me studying Norwegian with books, Audio-CDs, Online exercises, and most importantly - Google translate :-). No seriously, I acutally really like being able to take time and study this language, that is, PTL, often close to German.
I have the best language teacher in the world
my mother-in-law Bodil.
I am so thankful for her! She usually sits across from me and translates books from English into Norwegian, but she is always there, so I can ask questions and she explains the grammar rules to me! Perfect setting :-)!
Erlend has found a job (Thank you, Lord!) and will start on Monday as a driver for a delivery company. On his days off and during the last few days, he has helped out at NTM Norge with translating documents from English into Norwegian.
That is it for today,
-Anne-

Tip of the week
Do not fly with this airline!!
After having flown with quite a few airlines in our lives, both Anne and I, Erlend, agree that the worst airline we have both flown with is airBaltic.
This is because they have terrible customer service and they seem to always try to charge you extra, even for thing you have already paid for.
Also they promised to refund expenses regarding a lost luggage case, but then simply refused when the claim was made. After the negative answer, they simply stopped answering our e-mails all together.
If you want the full story of our unpleasant experiences with airBaltic then just ask, and we'll tell it to you.

Here is a picture of the view out of our living room window - isn't it beautiful? it is bad quality as, our new camera is not working yet because we are waiting for the memory card coming via snail mail....anyways, I took this picture with my computer, but I will post better quality pictures soon!
