road trip pictures

Here come the promised pictures from our road trip.

We are back from Finland and Sweden to stormy Vigra.
It is good to be home, if I may call this apartment our home.
I guess that is what we do call anywhere where we sleep longer than two nights in a row right now :-).

When we arrived a little less than two hours ago we were greeted by four smiley faces and some supper. After giving Alia a much needed bath and unpacking, sitting at the fireplace and updating the blog is next on my list (Germans always have lists or is it women that do!?! :-)).

I already wrote in the last blog that we liked Sweden and Finland did not disappoint either. Made lovely new friends at the church we visited, had great conversations and found some good deals on clothes.

Looking back on the last few days I can say that I am so thankful...
... to the Sandven family who so generously lend us their Chrysler, which was a great road trip car.
... for the great hotels we were staying at, clean and comfortable, even though they were the cheapest in town.
... to Maj Lis, who was so hospitable to us and gave us a great day in Sweden and who served to best Lambburger I have ever had
... to the pastor, his wife and the people of the church in Finland - meeting them was the beginning of good friendships
... for Alia, who was amazing, so content and easy, always smiling and making people happy.
... to God, for keeping us safe and healthy on this trip.
... to Markus and Erlend, who had to carry lots of extra stuff because they were willing to take Alia and me along.
... to Kristine - awesome roommate and help with Alia
... to everybody who prayed for this trip.

Okay, enough said, here come the pictures:

we were not so impressed by the weather in Sweden - the calendar says MAY!!!

but very impressed with the food

childhood dream come true!

we had to travel by boat four times all together

which was a nice break for Alia

to get out of her MaxiCosi

when we arrived in Finland the sea was still a little bit frozen

but all the warmer was the welcome of the pastor and his wife
