So today we got dressed in our national clothes and went in the direction that the man pointed at when he tried to explain where the party was going to be.
We got there, eat some yummy food and tried to answer as much of the question as we understood. They are always the same:
Her name is Alia, she is 7 months old, yes it is a girl even though she does not have earrings, we have been here for one month - that is why our language still sucks.... that is about all we know how to answer :-).
One guy sat down next to us and he could speak a bit of English so I asked him when the bride and groom would arrive. He seemed a bit embarrassed and said that it was not that kind of party, but uhhhhhm, it was, well, hmmm, it was a "cut" party.
It took a few moments before we realized that we had not been invited to a wedding but a circumcision party.... oh well, the rules for guests are the same as far as we know. We are expected to come, eat, smile and bring an envelope with a bit of money in it.
we really enjoyed the food,
except one dish that was a soup with ALL the parts of a goat (or sheep, not sure) in it,
but for dessert I had the best banana I have ever had
this is where you put your envelope with money
Alia was, as always, the center of attention

Wow, getting to experience and take part in so much already! Kisses to sweet Alia!
